The Dolomites in South Tyrol with the striking 3 Zinnen (Three Peaks/Tre Cime di Lavaredo) are among the most famous peaks in the Alps. In 2009 they became a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. To us, they are home.
Mighty yet gentle
The South Tyrolean DolomitesTheir "unique, monumental beauty" was the decisive factor for the UNESCO committee to designate the Dolomites in South Tyrol as a World Natural Heritage Site. And indeed, the steep reefs of limestone and dolomite rising up to 3200 meters,
the gentle alpine pastures and cragged peaks are more than impressive.
Along with the honorable title of being a World Heritage Site came a great responsibility for our region: UNESCO sites are subject to special protection in order to preserve the beautiful nature with its flora and fauna for future generations.
On a mission
Nature conservation as a philosophyAt Leitlhof, it is our mission to protect and preserve nature. As a nature hotel, we strive to protect the unique environment we live in. Our carbon-neutral wood-fired combined heat and power plant has been a major step in this direction.
Unique landmark
3 Zinnen – Three PeaksOur home village of San Candido is located amidst the Sexten Dolomites, the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park with the beautiful Lago die Braies and the 3 Zinnen Dolomites Nature Park.
It is the later that is the most famous: In fact, the rock formation of the Three Peaks is so special that is has become the symbol of the Dolomites. These unique rock cliffs are only about 20 kilometers from San Candido and the Leitlhof nature hotel. They
are a year-round attraction for climbers, hikers, winter sports enthusiasts and nature lovers.
